Greenfields have been chosen as the Supermac’s Galway Sports Stars ‘Club of the Year’.
This prestigious awards ceremony is the local social sporting highlight of the year & recognises the achievements in the local sporting world over the past twelve months.
Greenfields are primarily being recognised as the first Connacht hockey team to win a national title.
(For those of you living on another planet(!), Greenfields made history last March 2012, when they claimed the Irish Hockey Trophy title).
The presentation banquet will be held in the Ardilaun Hotel on Saturday Jan 19th 2013.
It is a cause of double celebrations for Greenfields, as former member Brenda Flannery, now with UCD, & a member of the Irish Senior Hockey squad, is being awarded the Hockey Sports Star Award.
