November 8, 2018

Following the U16 & U18 Interprovincial Tournaments earlier this month, a total of 13 players from Connacht have been selected to attend Irish trials.
The sessions begin this Hallowe’en weekend, & will be held on a monthly basis.  The squads, when finally selected, will participate in the European Youth Nations Championships.

This competition alternates every second year between the U16 & U18 age level  The U16 competition was held in Barcelona, in July 2010.  The U18 European Youth Nations championship will be held in Netherlands in July 2011.

The Home Nations competition is the alternative event for those not involved in the EuroHockey Youth Nations Championships.  In 2011, it is the turn of the U16’s at the Home Nations, which pits Ireland against England, Scotland & Wales.

One Greenfields player, Dora Gorman, has been called to Irish Trials, at U18 level.

Wishing you the best of luck at the trials, Dora!
