Next Sunday is Senior Championship Sunday and Sarsfields are first up against St. Patrick’s in a championship double header in the Athletic Grounds. Please give the team your support.

Senior Championship
This Sunday sees the Highmoss’ first outing in the Senior Football Championship. They play St. Patrick’s Cullyhanna who had a narrow win over St. Killian’s Whitecross in the first round. In their league encounter on a wet stormy night in mid-June Sarsfields came away from Cullyhanna with the points. In a tight match it was Sarsfields’ impressive work rate that held the home side scoreless for twenty minutes of the first half when they had wind advantage. Some may point to the unavailability of some players for next Sunday’s championship match, but it would be fair to say that Sarsfields travelled to Cullyhanna and won that encounter with a so called understrength team. Sarsfields have pulled out some great league performances against some decent Senior League teams and that should give the Highmoss belief in their ability. One thing is certain, the team needs your support.
