Historic day as Moydow/Ardagh amalgamation win first trophy

November 7, 2018

Moydow Harpers Ardagh 6-04 Killoe 2-07
In a superb all round team performance, the parish amalgamation raced into an early lead, opting for goals rather than points. This strategy, devised by Supremos James Farrell and Frank Doyle, clearly worked as Moydow Ardagh led by 3-03 to 1-02 at halftime. The highlight of the scores was an excellent individual effort by Tommy Farrell after 20 mins of play.
In the second half, the parish were up against a strong wind, but fought hard throughout the field and defended heroically. Upfront, they continued to dominate adding further goals to kill off the opposition.
