The Intermediates continued their positive start to the Championship by beating the Fighting Cocks 1-14 to 0-11 in DCP on Saturday. Clonmore had to weather an early storm and trailed by 0-6 to 0-5 at HT before their superior fitness & football skills told in the end. In an excellent all-round team performance, David Mulvany was outstanding at centre-back scoring two points, his long range effort in the first half probably the score of the game. Ronan Doyle & Gavin Byrne combined well at midfield and contributed important scores while the speed, movement and accuracy of all six forwards was top class – as was the vital goal by Niall Humphries in the 50th minute.
