Intermediate Championship: Clonmore 2-13 Asca 0-5

November 8, 2018

In spite of winning this game comfortably, Clonmore have bowed out of this year’s Intermediate Championship after finishing level on 6 points with Ballinabranna who beat us in our ‘head-to-head’ game and therefore go through to the quarter-finals along with the Fighting Cocks (semi) and Tullow. In that game against B’Branna, we were leading by 2-9 to 2-1 on 45 minutes but somehow managed to lose it by one point – 3-7 to 2-9 -and that loss is what has put us out of the C’ship.

What a sad way for the season to end for the Intermediates after they put in so much effort since the start of the season, going through the entire League campaign unbeaten and winning the Division 2 Final in July. Unfortunately, for now all we can do is lick our wounds and plan for next year. Well done to the players and mentors for all your efforts.
