Intermediate Hurling League round 2

Result: Glen Rovers 1-14 Ballygarvan 3-12

Half-time score: Glen Rovers 1-7 Ballygarvan 1-7

Ballygarvan won a very tough encounter with the Glen in the Intermediate Hurling League. The Glen got proceedings underway very quickly, rattling the Ballygarvan net with only a minute on the clock. Joe Spillane returned the favour on 7 minutes. Stephen White was kept busy clearing up at centre back and made life very difficult for the Glen forwards. 

With it starting all square at 1-7 at the start of the second half, Ballygarvan won a free, close to the sideline. Stephen White came up to take the free, and dropped it into the square. With the scramble in, the ball found its way into the back of the net, with Donal Sweeney claiming it. With the momentum with Ballygarvan, they added a further 2 points, giving them a 5 point lead. The Glen, fought their way back to make it a draw, until young Dan McCarthy scoring a fine goal, with still 10 minutes of normal time remaining.  Ballygarvan finished the stronger, with another 3 points to the Glen’s two. Finishing 3-12 to 1-14. 

Next up in the league is Mallow in Ballygarvan on the 3rd of April in Ballygarvan.
