Irish Hockey Awards Night - May 23rd '09

November 8, 2018

This great night of celebration kicked off with a champagne reception at the Burlington Hotel.  Rugby legend Fergus Slattery was guest speaker to the crowd of over 300 hockey enthusiasts.  The awards which are now in their fourth year celebrates hockey at all levels and recognises those who have excelled whether it be as a player, coach, club, volunteer or umpire.

Greenfields received nominations in two of the eleven categories.  There was great celebration at the Greenfields table when Fintan O’Flynn was announced as Development Coach of the Year, beating opposition from Three Rock Rovers, Pembroke Wanderers & Monkstown Hockey Clubs.
Our nominee for U18 Player of the Year was Dora Gorman.  At just 16yrs, she was up against tough opposition, & the award went to a Hermes player.  Although disappointed, Greenfields have no doubt that Dora’s day will come!
