JBFC Final

November 8, 2018

Our run of bad luck in finals continued last week. We played Carrignavar in Glenville in the Junior ‘B’ championship final on Saturday and lost once more by a single point, 1-4 to 0-6. Conditions of high wind made scoring very difficult with each team scoring just a single point in the first half. Both sides had wides but we missed two or three very good scoring opportunities. An early Alan O’Keeffe point doubled our tally. Carrignavar however then scored 1-2 without reply to lead by 1-3 to 0-2. We fought back, points from frees by sub Shane Murphy and Mark O’Connell brought the margin to two points. Brian Murphy had a late point to leave the minimum between the sides. We fought to get an equalizer but time ran out and so we lost our fifth major final in 8 weeks.
