Junior B Hurling Championship

November 8, 2018

Annaghdown lost out to Ballinderren in the Junior B hurling championship on Wednesday night last in a tough uncompromising game of hurling.  Ballinderren started brightly and playing down the hill on their own pitch they led 1-8 to 1-3 at the break, Annaghdown’s goal coming from Vivian Silke.  In the second period the men in maroon threw everything at the home side and despite having a penalty on another good goal chance from Michael Geoghegan saved they could not make inroads into the margin and lost out on a final score of 1-14 to 1-8.  This loss puts Annaghdown under pressure to qualify but with Johnny Murphy and Christy Burke back from suspension for the next game along with the availability of Jonathan Comer and Tomas Burke there is still a still a mathamatical chance of qualification.  Team: Brian Lohan, Joe Qualter, Paul Lynch, Marc Connaughton, Brian Qualter, Mike Whelan, John King, Colm Monaghan, Frankie Burke, Kieran O Connor, Pa Murphy, Aidan Connaughton, Michael Geoghegan, Vivian Silke, Michael Donnellan.
