JUNIOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

November 7, 2018

Our Junior footballers played their final group game last Saturday evening in Clonmel Sportsfield against Newcastle. Due to injuries and work commitments we once again had just 15 players. The first half was a tight game with nothing between the teams and at half time the teams were level at 7 points each. The game was won in the first 5 minutes of the second half when Newcastle opened up our defence with 3 quick goals. After that we were chasing the game and could not get close to Newcastle who ran out winners on a score of 3-13 to 0-12. Although we lost we still qualified for the semi final where we will meet local rivals Ballingarry. Team on the night was: Richie Needham, Eamon Needham, Ciarán Mockler, Aaron Cronin, Conor Barry, Paddy Moroney, Shane Gorey, Aidan Buckley, Paul Horan, Darren Boland, Cathal Mahoney, Neil Gleeson, Robbie McCormack, Willie O Brien, Cameron Moynihan.

Best of luck to John Moroney and Tony O Brien who are part of the Tipperary Intermediate hurling panel who take on Limerick this Sunday in the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick.

Our Junior B hurlers play St Mary's on Saturday evening in Monroe in their first game of the year.
