Ten Star performance from U10

Bride Rovers 10-3 St Finbarrs 2-0

The Decky Guckian league continued last Saturday when we played St Finbarrs where the boys produced a brilliant display of hurling. All twenty one boys played with great skill and enthusiasm. This was a great display from a great bunch of boys. Well done to all twenty one boys. Next game away to Kilta Og Saturday morning 11.30

U12 Football

Bride Rovers 2-5 Russell Rovers 1-6

Our U12 team played Russell Rovers last Saturday in Shanagarry in which was a very tough game. Once again our back line of Shane Dj and Dathal were doing great work to keep attacks from Mark in goal who was on hand when needed to bring off a vital save. We went on the attack with Dylan fielding some great ball at midfield allowing Jordan Service to open the score with a point which was followed by Russell Rovers scoring a goal and 2 points. Leon was introduced as a sub and made some great runs forward. Our half back line Beneoin, Shane O’Connor and Brian were sending great balls forward which resulted in points for Jordan, Conleth and Jessie. Russell Rovers scored 2 more points before half time. It was set up for a great second half.

We opened the second half well with some great passing from our half forwards Griffin, Jessie and Jordan which put Adam through for a goal and Jordan a point. Russell Rovers fought back with 2 more points. However we were not to be denied. Our full forward line Conleth, Adam and Eoin were stretching the back line at every opportunity which gave griffin the space to score a goal which was to be the final score on the day. A great win and well deserved.

Panel:  Mark Connolly, Shane O’Flynn, Dj Cahill, Dathal Kent, Beineon Whitmarsh, Shane O’Connor, Brian Roche, Dylan Browne, Jordan Service, Griffin O’Sullivan, Jessie O’Keeffe, Jordan Mannix, Conleth Ryan, Adam O’Sullivan, Eoin Roche, Leon O’Flynn, Dean Browne.

We wish Jack O’Connor a speedy recovery from his injury at training last week.

Bride Rovers 1-4 Youghal 3-2

Our U12 team were in action again on Monday night against Youghal at home. Our back line Mark, Tadhg, and Shane were doing their best against some strong forwards. We got on the score sheet with 2 points from Jessie but Youghal fought back with a goal and a point. Dylan was strong in goal with some great kick outs finding our half back line John, DJ and Brian.  Even with some great work from Jordan and Leon at midfield who were delivering great ball to our forwards Jessie, Shane, Griffin, Dathal, Adam, conleth we failed to score again before half time.

Youghal got the perfect start to the second half with a goal. Subs Beineon and Jordan were introduced and both played well. Our lads showed great determination to move forward which resulted in Jessie scored 1-1 and Beineon 0-1. With the scores level it could have gone either way. Youghal proved stronger on the night finishing with a goal and a point.  Even though our lads tried hard they were unlucky not to score again. Although beaten on the night it was a good game. Well done lads.
