Bride Rovers V Lisgoold u10 east cork football league

Bride Rovers played the third round of the u-10 East Cork football league in Lisgoold. This game proved to be a hard fought battle with both teams putting in a huge effort. Lisgoold opened the scoring with a goal. Bride Rovers were not to be outdone and Brian Roche got a goal for the Rovers which was quickly followed by a point from Conleth Ryan and a goal from Shane O’Flynn. The backs were defending well and Adam O Sullivan was in superb form at centre back and roaming around the field where ever he was needed.

The second half saw Lisgoold attacking with great intensity but the Rovers were not to be outplayed. After unlucky wides from John O Sullivan and Shane O Flynn, Adam O Sullivan executed a brilliant pass which led to a great goal from Brian Roche. Lisgoold got a further point but this was cancelled out by a great point from Sean Knox. Beneoin O Brien Whitmarch was getting to grips with the game and had an unlucky wide which hit the cross bar before going on to score a great point. Ciaran Nugent brought off a great save in goal. Jordan Mannix was unlucky not to add to the scoreboard for the Rovers when his shot went narrowly wide. Lisgoold added a further point before the final whistle to leave the final score; Bride Rovers 3 goals 4 points Lisgoold 1 goal and 2 points.

U-10 HURLING LEAGUE

Bride Rovers played Erins Own in the u-10 hurling league in Rathcormac under atrocious weather conditions. Erins Own opened the score with a goal but our players fought with courage and were rewarded with a great goal from Eoin Roche. At half time the scoreboard read a goal each.

The second half saw a classic goal being scored by Conleth Ryan from a free. Erins Own got a further 3 points. Players Patrick O’Flynn, Griffin O Keeney O Sullivan, Shane O’Flynn, Conor Barry, Brian and Eoin Roche and Adam O Sullivan put in stoic performances under very difficult conditions. Jordan Mannix had an unlucky wide. The final score was 2 goals and 0 points to Bride Rovers and 1 goal and 3 points for Erins Own, maybe a worthy finish for both teams in the very difficult conditions.
