Juvenile Notes

November 8, 2018

U8’s Training;
Training for U8’s continues every Saturday morning in the Castlebridge Celtic all-weather pitch in Castlelyons with in excess of 20 players every week. Training will focus on hurling for the next few weeks.

U10’s Lose Out To Strong Fermoy Side;

On Saturday March 14th, the Under 10 hurlers gave a spirited performance against a physically stronger team from Fermoy in the Glen Rovers organised “Decky Guckian League”. The match was played in Rathcormac under fine conditions except for a strong breeze which favoured the home side in the first half. The Bride Rovers boys played with enthusiasm and were unlucky not to score. The Fermoy side played a sporting game and were the stronger side on the day with the majority of the team being on the age, whereas Bride Rovers had only 2 players on the age. Still, our lads showed great skill and courage and will be a force to be reckoned with in the future. The final score was Fermoy 2-1, Bride Rovers 0-0.

The team on the day was:

Ciaran Nugent, John O’Sullivan, Kieran Kearney, Brian Roche, Griffin O’Sullivan, Shane O’Flynn, Conleith Ryan, Adam O’Sullivan, Conor Barry, Eoin Roche, Jordan Mannix, James Buckley, Beineoin O’Brien Whitmarsh, Shaun Knox, Dean Browne, Patrick O’Flynn,

They play the next round against Sars on Saturday 21st at 11am, venue TBC.

Feile Peil;

Our U14 footballers played in the first round of the Feile Peil at home to Carrigaline on Sunday afternoon. The Carrigaline side showed their experience of having played in higher grades in the past with a comprehensive victory. The Bride Rovers team put up a great fight, and were unlucky to be denied by the posts on a number of occasions.
