KICKHAM GAA SENIOR CLUB NOTES.


Senior Hurling.
Our seniors travel to Cappawhite on Saturday next to play neighbours Eire Og Annacarty in the first round of the West Senior Hurling Championship. The lads have put in a big effort this year and we wish them and the management the very best of luck in what should be a great game. Throw in is at 3.00pm and your support would be greatly appreciated.


Sympathy.

We extend our deepest sympathies to the extended O’Brien family Cappamurra on the recent death of Kathleen Small (nee O’Brien)Tallaght and formerly Cappamurra, in Dublin after a long illness bravely borne. We also extend or condolences to Kathleens husband Michael and family on their sad loss. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.


Membership.

We are again calling on all involved in the club to please pay their membership fees as soon as possible. Contact Margaret Hayes, Michael Shanahan or any club officer to pay same. You are not covered by insurance until membership is paid. Adult players 50 euro, U18 10 euro, Non player 25 euro.

JUVENILE GAA

U/8 & U/10 Training

U8 and U10 boys and girls are back training Saturday Mornings 11 to 12 o clock, Please bring €2 per family


U/12 Football.
Last Thursday our three U12 teams were in action.  Our A team were at home and were narrowly beaten by Galtee Rovers with the last kick of the ball. Hard luck boys. 
The B team travelled to Lisvernane on Thursday last to take on Aherlow and won well on the night. Our C team had their first outing last Thursday away to Rosegreen and had a great win also, they play in Lattin on this Thursday at 6.45 pm. Well done to all.

 

Best of Luck.
The Kickham Juvenile club wishes the best of luck to our Senior Team who have their first match in the West senior hurling championship this weekend against Eire Og.

 

CAMOGIE NOTES

We had a very busy weekend with most of our teams playing.

U/10
Our U10`s travelled to Littleton on Saturday to the County U10 Blitz and were strong winners in all their matches. Well Done Girls! Their next blitz takes place on 28th April.
 

U/12
Our U12`s travelled to NewInn who hosted the County U12 Blitz last Saturday.  We had a great afternoon’s camogie with hard fought games against Clonoulty, NewInn and Holycross and came out winners in all games.

 

Training

All Juveniles U6 up to U15 train Friday evening 6—7pm sharp All please attend and €2 per family please..

Junior.
The Junior Ladies started off their Junior A League last Sunday morning away to Thurles sarsfields.  It was a great game of camogie to watch and the girls were unlucky going down by two points. 
Final score 4 – 08 to 3 – 13 They play Holycross in the second round at home on Monday 9th April and would appreciate your support.  Training continues for the Junior Panel on Tuesday and Thursday Evenings @7pm.

 


KNOCK PILGRIMAGE.
The annual pilgrimage of Our Lady’s Sodality to Knock shrine will take place on the 29th and 30th of May.

 

PIONEER NEWS.
Sponsored Walk
Sincere thanks to all who supported our recent walk, the sum of 3,100 euro was raised.

Dinner Dance.
Our Annual Dinner Dance takes place on Saturday the 21st of April in Dundrum House Hotel, Tickets @ 25 euro from Mary Morrissey on 087- 2954891 or any Pioneer Centre member.


Retreat.
This years Retreat will be held in St Patrick’s College Thurles on Sunday the 29th of April from 9.30 am to 5.30pm. Directed by Father John Egan, the Retreat costs 35 euro including lunch and afternoon tea.

 

DONASKEIGH COMMUNITY COUNCIL.
Thanks.
The members of Donaskeigh Community Council would like to congratulate and thank all the people who helped out with the Spring Clean in Donaskeigh on Saturday last, over 20 bags of were removed from the roads. It is great to see people who have such pride in where they live and their locality.

The County Council wish to announce that the purchase price of a grave space in the new graveyard in Knockavilla for the year 2012 is now E794.50 incl VAT.
