Sympathies.

There were a number of families in the parish bereaved before, during, and after the Christmas period and we extend our deepest sympathies to them. All were acknowledged and prayed for at recent
meetings of the club. Those bereaved include, the Breen family Lisloran, Tom Breen Bishopswood, The Loughman family Garryduff east, and the extended Brett family Bishopswood.

We also lost a former Kickham great when Michael Ryan (Cormack) of Raheen Limerick and formerly Gurtussa Dundrum, who was in his 84th year, died on the 21st of December. In his youth Michael or Mickey as he was always known was a very skilful hurler who possessed lighting speed that terrorized many  defenders in the division and beyond .He wore the Black and Amber of Knockavilla Donaskeigh  Kickhams with pride winning two West Senior Hurling titles in 1946 and 1947 whilst  playing along side his brother Martin. He also won two West minor titles in1944 and 1945, which was also the year he represented Tipperary in minor hurling. When his work took him to the Treaty County he continued his involvement in all things GAA and lined out for the Limerick Senior hurlers during the early 1950’s. We offer our condolences his wife Phyllis and family on their sad loss we also extend our sympathies to his brothers and sisters, relatives and friends at this sad time.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

We also offer our deepest sympathies to the extended Hogan and Quinlan family Holystack on the unexpected death of Theresa Maher nee Quinlan, of Prior Park Clonmel and formerly Holystack on
Saturday Jan 7th.We extend our condolences to her Husband Paddy and Family at this sad time, May she rest in peace.

On Tuesday morning the 10th of January the death occurred of Mrs Josie O’Brien of Gurtussa. Josie was in her 99th year and will be sadly missed by us all. We offer our sincerest sympathies
to her devoted Daughter Bernadette, Daughter in Law Bríd, Grand children John F. and Claire and all her relatives’, good neighbour’s and friends on their loss. May she rest in peace.
