Sympathies.

We offer our deepest sympathies to Tadhg and Joe Ryan, Upper Bishopswood on the death on Sunday the 25th of September of their father Larry in his 100th year. We also offer our condolences to the extended Ryan family, relatives, neighbours and friends on their sad loss. In his youth Larry wore the Black and amber of Kickhams with pride and as a mark of respect to Larry and the Ryan family his coffin was draped with the club colours during the obsequies. Ar dhéis Dé go raibh a anam. We also include in our prayers the late P J Comerford of Reddans Walk, Dundrum Road , Tipperary who died on Monday the 26th of September after a long illness bravely borne. We offer our deepest sympathies to his wife Anne and family on their loss. We also extend our condolences to his brother Tom and wife
Minnie and family and the extended Comerford family at this sad time, may he rest in peace.

Camogie News.

U/12S win again.

Our U12 team travelled to Borrisleigh on Saturday last in the hope of qualifing for the knock-out stages of the championship. Both teams braved the inclement weather and  battled in tough conditions.  Borrisleigh got the better of the first half leading 1-02 to no score at the break. Kickhams came out in the second half a much hungrier team and settled quickly  to score a goal.  From then on they went from strength to strength with the backs and mid field holding firm and the forwards adding two more goals and a point to leave the score 3-01 to 1-02 at full time. Well done to the girls on a great disply. Special thanks to the team mentors and supporters who spurred on the girls so well.  They now have qualified for the quarter-finals, yet to fixed. Training continues for U12`s on Wednesday from 6pm.

Hospice thanks.

The Dundrum and District friends of South Tipperary Hospice wish to thank everyone who contributed in any way to the recent coffee mornings in Dundrum House Hotel and Butlers Centra Dundrum. The total raised came to 2,004 euro and is greatly appreciated by all. Special thanks to Austin & Mary Crowe and Family of Dundrum House Hotel and DJ and Marie Butler and Family of Centra Dundrum for hosting the coffee mornings.

Haven Collection.

A sincere thank you to all who supported so generously to the recent Church gate collection in aid of Haven build it week for Haiti which was held at all masses in the Parish. The sum of 672 euro was raised and will help alleviate the poverty and destitution that still exists in one of the worlds poorest countries. Our volunteers will travel out to Haiti in mid October as part of a large team that will spend one week building houses and restoring and maintaining essential services for those most in need. John Donovan from Donaskeigh will be part of this effort along with others from neighbouring Parishes including Francis Grisewood, Johnny Ryan, Rosemary McGrath, and James Doherty.

Craft Fair.

Dundrum Craft Group will hold their annual craft and food fair in the Scout Hall Dundrum on Sunday the 30th of October. This event which has gone from strength to strength since its inception promises to live up to its reputation once again. This year we will have an even greater variety of fare on offer. The regulars will still be there like the Child Art competition which always turns up great talent. This year’s theme is “Autumn Fruits”. The Hospice Stall will once again take centre stage and we are again looking for donations
of Cakes, buns and all sorts of confectionary all which will be sold to help raise funds for this very necessary service in our community. As far as the exhibitor stalls go there are still a few places left. The qualifying criteria for anyone wishing to exhibit are, the stalls must only contain Irish products, food or services produced or provided by the exhibitor themselves. Details and application forms can be obtained from Michael Carew on 062-71187.
