COMMUNITY TEXT ALERT;
The text alert system is now operational in the parish for the last two months. Already, it has been used on numerous occasions. Any of the
information which was sent out to the subscribers has also been used successfully by the Gardai in their effort combating crime in the area.
The committee would urge everyone to continue to be vigilant about strange cars or any suspicious activity in their area. and report it to the
community alert phone, all in strictest confidence. No text goes out on the system until the Gardai analyse the information and determine if a
text is needed.

Cappawhite now also has set up a text alert system, and both our scheme and theirs are now linked up so that all relevant information between
the two parishes can be shared.The committee would also like to thank the local FAS scheme for all their assistance in erecting the 30 road
signs throughout the parish.A community alert meeting will take place this Friday April 19th at 8pm in Knockavilla hall to discuss the text
alert system. Also to be discussed is the introduction of google mapping of all houses in the parish. If this scheme goes ahead, it would mean
that all interested house owners would be given their own co ordinates which then could be used if any of the emergency services were needed,
rather than trying to give directions you would just have to give the co ordinates, which would speed up the response time for the emergency
vehicles.
