SCOIL MHUIRE KNOCKAVILLA.

Applications are now being taken for Scoil Mhuire Knockavilla. Application forms are available from the school office. Please ring Mary, the school

secretary at 062 71533. Should your child need extra educational support, an early application will enable the school to have this support in place

for September. We will be holding an open/information day for new entrants after Easter.

Congratulations to Ms Úna Luddy who retired from the teaching staff recently. Úna served the pupils of Scoil Mhuire and the parish of

Knockavilla-Donaskeigh since 1978. She was appointed to the position of Deputy Principal in 1997. She will be sadly missed in the school by the

pupils, parents and her colleagues. On Thursday 26th February a ceremony was held to honour Úna during which presentations were made on behalf of

the Board of Management, the pupils and her colleagues. Tá súil againn go léir i Scoil Mhuire go néirí an t-adh leat i gconaí a Úna.

Preparations are going ahead in Scoil Mhuire for Lá ‘le Pádraig. As is traditional in Knockavilla, the Ó Riada Mass will be sung by the pupils and

past-pupils. It is a great credit to the pupils and teachers that this beautiful music is performed by the local school for the parish. We look

forward to having a large crowd to appreciate this hard work and dedication and to honour our patron saint. Also, on St Patrick’s Day the pupils

together with their parents will take part in the parade in Cashel. Well done to the Parents’ Association for their great work in preparing this

event.

COMMUNITY ALERT COLLECTION

Knockavilla, Dundrum & Donaskeigh Community Alert committee will hold their annual church gate collection in both churches on the weekend of 14th

and 15th March. The funds raised goes towards the running cost of the text alert system and its annual insurance bill.
