UNDER 12 WESTERN FINAL
What a fantastic display of football on a sunny Sunday morning in the fraher field from these young players. It was touch and go from the first minute of play.We knew going in to this match that it was going to be a close one and that we would have spectators and selectors stressed and true to form the match produced this in spades. The goalie Conor Fennell made a lot of great saves and clearances. The full back line made up of Anthony Lonergan and Michael Galvin both played a very solid game. The centre back line of Edmond Walsh, Donal Fitzgerald and Cormac Heinen played a very solid game and were at the start of a lot of attack.Eoin Curran and Joshua Kay covered every inch of the field and both scored a point from play. The centre forwards of Michael Lawlor who won a lot of ball and jack whyte who wasn’t long off a plane scored 1.2 .The full forward line consisted of Eoin Power (2pts) and Dillon Parrish (1.1).Ryan Houlihan was our captain on the day.The subs were all introduced and done well they were John Paul Quinlan, Luke Ryan and Paddy Hayes. After fifty minutes of football the match ended in a draw the result being 2.7 a piece. The replay will be held in fraher field on Thursday evening at 6 o clock. The selectors (Tom,Colin and Benny) would like this opportunity to say how proud they are of this team as each and every player gave every thing for the team.
