KINGSCOURT  STARS  GFC    JUVENILE  REPORT  2007

Under – 8

Coaches – Pat Byrne, Pat Duffy, Laurence Shekleton, Raymond Cunningham

Our season began in April and ended in October with up to 30 children playing.  We played several challenge games and all the kids got to play at some stage.  We took part in two blitzes and ran a skills competition among our own players at the end of the year.

Under – 10

Coaches – Simon Sheenan, David Burke, Dermot Kelly, Larry Corrigan

Coaching commenced in March with 27 children present.  During the year we won three blitzes, played several challenge games and entered the Newry Blitz in which we performed quite well.

Under – 12 + Under – 13

Coaches – Pat Faulkner, David Burke, James Brown, Paul Carolan, Conor Rooney, Patsy Sheridan

Under-12s started training in February.  We played challenge games until the Cavan League commenced.  While the team wasn’t very strong they gave a good account of themselves.

Under-13s were beaten in the semi-final of the Championship after a hard fought game.

Under – 14

Coaches – Brendan Farrelly, Ciaran Lynch, John Carey, Patsy Sheridan

Training started in March.  Played challenge games until the league began.  Lost to Bailieboro in the semi-final.  On the May bank holiday week-end we took part in Feile.  In the Championship, we were beaten by Gowna and finished the year by winning the Peter Connolly Cup.

Feile

Next July, Cavan is hosting the all-Ireland Feile Under 14 competition in which our Club will be playing a major part.

Finally, on behalf of the Juvenile Club, I would like to thank all the mentors, players, parents and the senior committee for all their support during the year.
