Ladies

November 8, 2018

The senior ladies who were missing a few county players took on a tough Strabane outfit at Parc Naomh Mhuire on Sunday morning.  Playing into a strong breeze in the first half the girls found themselves down 1 8 to no score at half time. A much better second half performance resulted in a tighter match however the girls were still on the losing end of a heavy defeat. Final score: Strabane 3 11: St. Mary’s 1 0.  Much will be learnt from this experience. For the losing team good performances were form Louise (Bonnie) Doherty and Mairead Browne. Scorers: Stephani Bonar (1 0). Training continues on Wednesday evening at 7pm and Sundays at 12.30.  New players welcome

There was a lot of transfer activity in the air for the under 14 girls on Sunday evening last  in convoy as Urney arrived without their full compliment of players.  To ensure the game could go ahead 14 against 14, 5 St. Mary’s  girls dawned the urney colours. Thereafter a very spirited game took place in which St Mary’s emerged victorious in a score of 7 10 to 2 4. Megan Quinn, Grace Doherty, Emer Shovelin and Ericia Wilson gave good displays in what was a good all round team performance. Scorers: Emer Shovelin 2 1, Grace Doherty  0 4,  Gabrielle Duffy 2 0,  Megan  Quinn 1 1,  Chloe Mc Gee1 1,  Sarah  Allan  0 2,  Rebecca Prunty 1 0  and Ciara  Gallagher 0 1.

Under 14 and under 16 girls training continues on Saturdays at the new time of 12.15. The under 14 league starts this weekend and St. Marys are at home to Red Hughs on Sunday at 6.15pm. Players please meet at pitch at 545 sharp.

The under 16 league will commence on April 14th when we are away to Glenties and the minors are out on April 23rd/24th with their first game at home to Glenties. Good luck to the teams in the season ahead.
