Ladies Club Notes.

November 8, 2018

Well  done to the Cork u16 footballers who defeated Kerry on a scoreline of 2-8 to 1-9 on Saturday last in Milstreet in the first round of the Championship.Jennifer Barry lined at centre forward for the rebelettes and scored  1-1 of their final tally with a impressive display on the 40. Jennifer Cahill was introduced 12 minutes into the second half and although was unlucky not to score made some great passes to set up some of her fellow players for scores

Sunday, March 28. Ladies Football U12 East Cork League.

Glanmire           3-7        Bride Rovers 1-1.

Bride Rovers U12 Tigers team started their 2010 Easy Cork League campaign last Sunday when they were defeated away to Glanmire on a scoreline of 3-7 to 1-1. This was the first game at U12 level for most of this panel and they acquitted themselves very well indeed. The backs were under some pressure for most of the first half, the period when Glanmire scored their 3 quick goals, and Nicola Murphy made several fine saves to keep us in the game. Taylor Parle made several fine interventions also while Aisling Finnegan was impressive at corner back throughout. At the other end, Rebecca O Brien had a memorable afternoon, accounting for all Rovers’ scores of 1-1. On another day, our scoreline would look better as we narrowly missed a few chances, especially in an improved second half. In particular, a great chance fell to Emma Hazelwood after a brilliant run half the length of the field, and she certainly deserved a goal.

Many of our players are still in the U10 ranks but all were fully competitive. Finally, it is certain that this group will come on dramatically for the game and we look forward to better fortune ahead.
