Ladies club notes and news for the week.

November 8, 2018

The past weekend has been a busy one on the Social front for all the juvenile players in the club. On Friday night we had a combined social with the juvenile club in the community hall for all the u8&u10 player’s .All the young folk enjoyed themselves on the night and the music from the excellent DJ had the dance floor full all night. Medals were presented on the night to our victorious u10 East Cork team by our two Senior B All –Ireland medalist winners Grace and Eleanor. Plenty spot prizes on the night and plenty drinks and treats kept all our young folk happy and ended another successful playing season

On Sunday night it was the turn of our u12 to u16 players who also had a combined social with the juvenile club in the Central bar. Our thanks to Angela and Sean for the use of their facility and to Margo and all her staff for providing the food on the night. Once again Dj Maurice did a superb job entertaining the young folks. On the night our victorious u14 and u15 teams received their League winner’s medals and their camogie and football championship runners up medals. Our u12 (ladybird) team also received their runners up championship medals from vice-captain of our successful junior county champions Bridget Forde. Our two Cork representatives Jennifer Barry and Jennifer Cahill received presentations from the club for their achievements with Cork in 2009 .Thanks to Ann Forde who did a great job as MC both nights and to Ann and Valerie for the work they put into the organising of both nights and thanks also to Billy, Catherine and Trish from the Juvenile club.

The Agm of the Cork ladies football board was held on Friday night last in Pairc Ui Chaoimh with all of the main officers going back into their positions. Our Congratulations to Our Club representative Kathleen Kearney who once again takes up the position as selector on the Cork Senior B team for 2010.

As the curtain comes down on the playing fields for 2009. Thanks to everyone that has helped out in any way (no matter how big or small) in the club this year.If there is anyone out there willing to get involved with the u8’s for the coming year let us know as it would be a shame if these girls will have no team for the coming year  due to lack of parental interest. The club would also like to send condolences to all the families who lost loved ones during the year .We wish everyone a happy Christmas and here’s to a successful 2010.
