Ladies Club Notes For The Week.

November 8, 2018

Sunday, May 23. U14 Ladies Football County Championship Quarter-Final.

Dromtariffe       5-4        Bride Rovers 4-15

Bride Rovers’ U14 girls qualified for the county semi-final in style when they defeated Dromtariffe in Rathcoole on Sunday, May 23. This game was played in blisteringly hot conditions and the high pace maintained right to the end of the game was a tribute to the fitness of both teams. Bride Rovers enjoyed the majority of possession throughout and generally found scores easier to come by but the opposition forwards were dangerous and reduced large leads on more than one occasion by scoring timely goals. Rovers enjoyed a lead of 7 points at half-time but couldn’t take the game for granted. A goal from Clare O Leary almost immediately after the restart was ideal and Rovers’ lead actually stretched to 15 points at one point in the second half but, to Dromtariffe’s credit, they reduced the arrears with a late rally. However, our defence raised their game again and we ran out comfortable winners in the end.

Tuesday, May 25 U12 Camogie

Mitchelstown     1-1        Bride Rovers     11-1

Bride Rovers U12 camogie players showed continued improvement on Tuesday, May 25 when they enjoyed their best win so far. This game was actually keenly contested for the first ten minutes or so but a succession of goals before half-time secured the win for the Rovers because the gap was too large for the opposition to bridge. The strength of our panel was demonstrated at half-time when all subs were introduced without any noticeable weakening of the team.

Match Panel : Jessica Howard, Madison Parle (Capt.), Maria O Sullivan, Sarah O Flynn, Niamh Murphy, Grainne Noonan (1-0), Laura Quirke, Michelle Lane, Shauna O Connell, Grace Culloty (2-0), Selena Cotter (1-0), Arianne O Flynn (3-0), Aoife Howard, Emma Roche, Emma Barry (2-1), Nicola Murphy, Aisling Finnegan, Taylor Parle (2-0), Aoife Deasy, Ellen Twomey
