November 8, 2018

Next Sunday 9th of May is La Na gClub and once again Bride rovers have an action packed program for all the family. From 2-5 next Sunday Pairc Na Bride will be a height of activity with mini blitzes for the u8s 10s and 12s boys and girls. A treasure hunt which went down very well last year is also on the cards and pony rides for the smallies as well as musical entertainment and lots lots more. Refreshments will be provided and anyone that could do some baking or make sandwiches would be appreciated. From 1-2 we will have a long puck competition for the u14 and u16 boys and girls so that they have the full length of the pitch before small children arrive.

The club would like to wish the best of luck to Grace and Eleanor next Sat 8th May when Cork Senior ladies take on Galway in the National League Final at Parnell Park at 5.15pm. The match is televised on TG4 for anyone not travelling.

U12 Camogie.

Castlelyons          5-0                Bride Rovers 5-1.

Bride Rovers U12 camogie team earned a well-deserved win in an exciting encounter with near neighbours Castlelyons on Monday April 26. As the scoreline indicates, this match was very close throughout and the issue was in doubt to the final whistle. First half goals from Nicola Murphy (x2) and 1-1 from Emma Barry gave Rovers a first half lead but this was very quickly eroded in the second half by Castlelyons in the second half and they hit the front but a goal from Laura Quirke brought us back within reach. Castlelyons led by 2 points with time running out but Grace Culloty finally broke through for the winning goal after having had a few near misses. This prompted Castlelyons to launch final desperate attacks to try to get their lead back but the Rovers backline (Maria O Sullivan, Sarah O Flynn, Aoife Howard, Shauna O Connell (G), Niamh Murphy, Aisling Finnegan and Madison Parle) stood very strong and held out to secure the win.
