The Gaelic for Others/Mothers team enjoyed a game against the Fethard ladies last Monday the 15th of July in Cloneen. A good evening’s fun and football was had by all and a huge thanks to Pat Morrissey for referring this local derby!Junior Team

As part of their championship preparations the junior ladies played near neighbours Fethard in a challenge game on Friday the 12th of July in very hot conditions. The game was a useful run out for both teams and our thanks to the Fethard ladies and coaches for travelling the short distance out to Anner Park for the game.

The Junior ladies team played Boherlahan B in their second round championship game on Friday the 19th of July in Cloneen. The Patrick’s Ladies led the whole way through the first half and after 30 minutes led 1.8 to 0.1. Scores in the first half coming from five out of the six St. Patrick’s forwards: Orla Meagher, Siobhan Vaughan, Úna O’Brien, Niamh Dunne and Niamh Morrissey. The second half was a tighter affair with the Boherhalan Ladies notching 4 consecutive points, however these were cancelled out when St. Patrick’s players Siobhan Vaughan, Deirdre O’Donovan and Orla Meagher all were on target in scoring some finely taken goals. The full time result was: St. Patrick’s 4.12 to Boherlahan B 1.8. This was truly a team performance on the evening, with the St. Patrick’s ladies working very hard across the field. However, particular credit must go to the midfield pairing of Sarah Mockler and Aileen Kelly, gave worked tirelessly up and down Anner Park for the full 60 minutes. Team lineout: Helen Hogan, Aileen Sugrue, Maeve Browne, Rebecca Hayden, Lynda Nevin, Roisin Horan (capt), Siobhan Dunne, Aileen Kelly (0.1) & Sarah Mockler, Deirdre O’Donovan (1.0), Siobhan Vaughan (1.1), Úna O’Brien (0.5), Niamh Morrissey (0.1), Orla Meagher (2.2) and Niamh Dunne (0.1). Subs all taken on at half time: Aine O’Donovan for Úna O’Brien, Sarah Sugrue for Rebecca Hayden and Niamh Fitzgerald (0.1) for Niamh Dunne. The next round game is an away game against the Cahir B ladies, no details of this fixture at present.
