LADIIES GAA FOOTBALL NOTES

November 7, 2018

Under 10's
On Saturday last our under 10 girls travelled to Clonmel Og grounds to contend in a very well run blitz.  They played 4 matches against Clonmel Og, Fethard, Slievenamon and Moyle Rovers respectively. The games were played for 15 minutes straight with between 9-13 players. They had 15 girls available on the day and everyone got a fair run in each game. It was a great team effort by all the girls and thankfully the future is bright with a good number of girls shining through with their talent of football.  Keep up the good work girls and coaches. Unfortunately due to work commitments the under 10 mentors Catriona Boland and Sheila Butler were unable to attend the blitz but the girls were in the safe hands of Trish Strappe (chairperson) and Tracey Carroll with help from Caoimhe McMenamin on the day.  Well done to all involved and to the parents for their support.
Players on the day were: Amy O'Brien, Sarah Boland, Faye Noonan, Ailish Ryan, Ella Corbett, Rachael Crannitch, Erin Moroney, Mary Fitzgerald, Rhiannan Meagher, Laura Butler, Sarah Hayden, Raighnait Morrissey, Anna O'Dwyer, Orlaith McGrath and Alicia Fitzgerald.

Under12's
Under 12 girls were narrowly beaten by 2 points in the quarter final against Aherlow recently.  The girls put up a big battle against them in Aherlow but unfortunately did not succeed in pulling off a win. The girls worked very hard and did everything possible to score but it did not go our way.  We will now prepare and look forward to the league for the summer months.  We will play in division 3 for this competition which commences in the next week or so. We would appreciate if parents could make the coaches aware if they on holidays and cannot attend for matches so that it can be organised in advance the team we have available for each game.  Thank you.
