LADIIES GAA FOOTBALL NOTES

Under 12's

 

Under 12 football training continues on  Saturday morning's at 10.30am in Cloneen.  The under 12 championship will be commencing in the coming weeks, so all girls at this age group are encouraged to come out to training.  The under 12 team have also been entered into the Community games competition, where they will play Cashel (away) in the first round before the 10th of May. Please contact Siobhan Vaughan under 12 manager for further details.

 

Under 14's

The under 14 team have been entered into the county Féile Peile na nOg playoffs which will take place on Easter Monday the 17th of April in Cahir – further details to follow.  The under 14 team have also been entered into the Community games competition, where they will play Kilsheelan at home in the first round before the 10th of May.  Under 14 training continues on Thursday evenings at 7.15pm in Anner Park Cloneen.

 

Under 16's

The under 16 team played their second round championship match against Ballyporeen away on Sunday past.  Ballyporeen started the game the strongest and registered a goal and a point in the opening minutes and it took the St. Patrick’s girls 15 minutes before they registered their opening score, with a goal by Leanne Murphy.  St. Patrick’s then started to play some good football and went onto score a further 3.1 in the first half, with goals from Eabha Fitzgerald, Ciara Butler and Eimear Boland.  Half time score: St. Patrick’s 4.1 Ballyporeen 1.2.  St. Patrick’s dominated play for most of the second half , with Leanne Murphy, Eimear Boland and Ciara Butler adding to their first half tallies and Sadhbh Morrissey also getting on the scoresheet .  In defence, Katie McCormack commanded the full back line throughout the game and was well supported by Olivia Noonan and Aoife Horan at midfield.  St. Patrick’s won out the game comprehensively.  St. Patrick's team: Rachel Butler, Ashling Boland, Katie McCormack, Aine Ryan, Olivia Noonan, Ciara Fitzgerald, Aoife Horan, Sarah Cranitch, Leanne Murphy, Eimear Boland, Eabha Fitzgerald, Ciara Butler, Aoibheann McGrath, Sadhbh Morrissey, Eabha Hogan, Erín O'Brien and Jessica Strappe.   Next championship game is home to Ardfinnan in the coming weeks.  Training for the under 16's continues on Thursday evenings at 7.15pm in Anner Park Cloneen.

 

Congratulations

Congratulations to Presentation Secondary School Ballingarry on winning their Munster final against CTI Clonmel on Thursday past.  St. Patrick’s Ladies were well represented on the team, with 10+ of our under 16 and minor girls on the panel.  Special mention to our own Leanne Murphy who captained the team – well done girls and to all concerned!  A number of our under 14 girls also had a successful week on the basketball court, with their respective secondary schools: Jessica Strappe and her Scoil Ruain teammates on winning the South East Girls basketball D final against CTI and to Eabha Hogan and Rachel Butler and their teammates inPresentation Ballingarry winning theSouth East Girls basketball C final against Presentation Wexford.

 

Club Registration Evening

St. Patrick’s Ladies GAA Club registration evening will take place on Thursday the 06th of April 7.30pm to 8.30pm in the Clubrooms in Anner Park Cloneen.  All players and parents are asked to take note of this date, as all players need to be registered in order to take part in training sessions and all games for the upcoming year.  Registration fees which are inclusive of the county board levy for players over the age of 10 are as follows: Under 6 to under 10: €25; Under 12 to Under 18: €45, Junior/Adult: €60 and G4O: €15.

 

Clothes Collection Recycling Fundraiser

St. Patrick’s Ladies GAA Club would like to thank everyone who supported the club's annual clothes collection fundraiser on Saturday the 25th of March.  Special thanks to all of the committee members who gave of their time to assist in collection.
