Mayo Gaels GAA club are holding a table quiz in the Sheebeen bar, Balla on Friday October 5. tables of 4 and Eur20 per table. Starting at 9-30pm. All support would be appreciated.
TOWNLANDS SIGNS
The Mayo Abbey Parish townland signage committee wishes to bring parishioners up to date with the current situation of the CLAR Bi-lingual townland signage scheme. The project is currently with the Place-names branch in Dublin. No further progress can be made until the Dept. of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs have researched the townlands names submitted. This should be completed in October. This information will then be forwarded to CLAR Bi-lingual townland signage scheme, Mayo County Council.
SAFE PASS
The next Safe Pass course in St Colmans Training Centre, Mayo Abbey is on Thursday October 4. This one- day course starts at 8-30a.m. sharp. Booking with Paddy at 094 93 65 987.
SET DANCING
Set dancing classes have resumed in the Bishop O’Healy Resource Centre, Mayo Abbey on Monday nights. All dancers welcome, especially beginners.
THANKS
The Irish Kidney Association thanks all who contributed to their recent church-gate collection in Mayo Abbey. The amount raised was Eur402.09. Mayo mental Health Association thank all who contributed to their recent annual church-gate collection which raised Eur380.21.
IN-DOOR BOWLS
Indoor bowls will resume in the Mayo Abbey Centre on Tuesday night October 2nd at 8-00 p.m. Adults only.

RECENT DEATHS
During the holiday period the following deaths occurred. The death took place in Northampton of Teresa Spillane formerly Teresa Brennan, Gortaphuill. The death took place of Rita Finnerty, Ballyglass. The death has taken place of Michael (Mick) Murphy, Ballinlough. Sympathy is extended to his family, Tom, Michéal, Laurence, all in Ballinlough, Mary Finan, Roscommon, Teresa Connolly Claregalway, and their families.

Sympathy is extended to the Sloyan family Coolmeen on the death in Westport of Nancy McNamara, formerly Nancy Sloyan, Coolmeen.
