Intermediate Hurling: Lorrha now know their opponents in the County Intermediate Final and it is a repeat of the County Senior Final of 1984 against Moycarkey-Borris.
The match will take place on Sunday afternoon in MacDonagh Park, Nenagh with a throw-in at 2.30pm.

Sunday will be a culmination of three years hard work by the players whose aim was to get back to senior hurling and hopefully it will be achieved come Sunday evening.
We wish the players, management and all that are involved the very best.
There is wonderful colour around the parish since the North Final and we would encourage all businesses and homes in the parish to have some kind of blue and white decked out this week ahead of the game and look forward to seeing a big Lorrha support at the final.

Under 21: Lorrha 1-8 Burgess 0-5
Lorrha are through to the North Under 21 B Hurling Final with a hard fought win over Burgess in Cloughjordan on Saturday afternoon.
It was far from a good Lorrha performance and that was understandable ahead of the big game next weekend. A Ciaran Duggan goal before half time gave Lorrha a 1-3 to 0-4 lead at the break and points in the second half from Sean Cleary and Patrick Maher helped Lorrha pull away in the end. Lorrha will play either Templederry or Portroe in the final.
Team: Kevin Hough; Graham Houlihan, Garrett O’Meara, Conor Sullivan; Jack Maher, Kevin Maher, Brendan Fogarty; Michael O’Meara, Eoin Gormally; Eoin O’Meara, John Lambe, Patrick Maher; Sean Cleary, Ciaran Duggan, Willie Hough. Sub: Andrew Hoctor.

Minor Football: Lorrha lost out to Moyle Rovers in the County Minor ‘A’ Football semi-final last week in New Inn on a score line of 0-12 to 0-5.
Despite down a number of players, Lorrha put in a gutsy display and gave their all to the very end but unfortunately it was not good enough but to have win the North championship in the grade was a superb achievement.
Team: Willie Maher; David Fogarty, Patrick Maher, Andrew Hoctor; Sean O’Meara, Graham Houlihan, Noel Lane; Eoin O’Meara, Brendan Fogarty; Conor Haugh, Ciaran Duggan, Cian Hogan; Sean Cleary, Bob O’Brien, Declan O’Meara. Sub: Michael Brophy.

Senior Football: Thomas MacDonaghs were defeated in the semi-final of the county senior football championship by Fethard on Sunday evening. Although Lorrha had no representatives on the team, to have a senior football team in the area is a terrific asset for any player who wishes to enhance their footballing prospects.

Sponsorship: With our Intermediate & Under 21 Hurling teams still in their respective championships, anyone wishing to sponsor any of our teams for the remaining games can do so by contacting any committee member. All sponsorships will be acknowledged.

AGM: The Annual General Meeting of Lorrha GAA Club takes place in the GAA Clubhouse on Saturday, 1 December at 8.30pm. With the accounts being prepared in the next few weeks, any outstanding money owed to club is to be paid to treasurer Tina Young.
The annual auction will take place on Sunday, 9 December with more details closer to the event.

Congratulations: to our neighbours in Portumna and Birr on their senior championship successes on Sunday. Hopefully some of their success can rub off on us this weekend.

Sympathy: Lorrha GAA Club would like to sympathise with the Dowd Family on the death of Tommy “Sonny” Dowd who died last week after a short illness. Sonny was a fine goalkeeper in his younger days and was a member of the successful Lorrha juvenile teams of the last fifties. May he rest in peace.
