North Intermediate Final: Lorrha 3-9 Ballina 1-13
The Fr. Hewitt Cup came back to Lorrha for the first time in 61 years after we struck 1-1 late on to win the North Final over Ballina. Playing nowhere near our best, with Ballina dominating for most of the game, we struggled to find our rhythm but we hung in the game with Patrick Maher’s goal in the last minute putting us ahead.
There was great celebration’s on field after the final whistle as Noel Hogan lifted the cup. The team returned to the parish via Rathcabbin, Moatfield and Lorrha where celebrations began in earnest but the big prize still remains to be won.
Lorrha now play Carrick Davins in the County Quarter Final, which is fixed for Boherlahan on Saturday next, 6 October at 3.30pm with the quarter final between Ballina and Ballybacon-Grange, the curtain raiser at 2pm.

Final DVD/Video: Anyone who wishes to get a copy of the final can do so by ordering from secretary Shane Brophy.

Jackets: The Club will be taking orders on the new range of club rain jackets. The final date for orders will be Friday week, 12 October with names and sizes to be given to Shane Brophy.

Minor Football: Lorrha will be playing their Minor A Football against Nenagh Eire Og in the next week or two. Check papers for details.

Lotto: The numbers drawn on 24 September for an €8,700 jackpot were: 3 – 5 – 25 – 27. No Winner.
The Lucky Dips were: Shane Brophy, Ann Feeney, Liam Reddish, Winning Streak and Kathleen Dunne. The Winning Promoters were: Garrett O’Meara, Geraldine O’Meara and Mark Carroll.
A new lottery ticket of the Lorrha GAA lotto will be coming on stream in the next couple of weeks. The new ticket will contain three boxes with numbers ranging from 1 to 30. Each player can play one box for €2, two boxes for €4 or three boxes for €5.
At last weeks lotto meeting, it was decided to hold the lotto draws in future on a Monday night with all lotto promoters to have their tickets left at the collection points on a Sunday night.

Old Time Dancing: Our Old Time Dancing continues in the GAA Clubhouse on Friday night to the music of The Evergreens. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
