Minor Hurling: Lorrha 2-14 Kilruane MacDonaghs 4-16 (AET)
The Lorrha Minors came agonisingly close to reaching the North Minor A Final after being defeated in extra time by Kilruane MacDonaghs in a superb game on Monday week last.
After a bad start where we trailed 3-5 to 0-2, Lorrha managed to reduce the lead to eight points by half time. An early second half goal from Sean Cleary ignited the Lorrha revival and a goal from Brendan O’Brien with ten minutes to go brought Lorrha within a point. We managed to get a point ahead going into added time but a late free forced extra time.
Despite the descending gloom, extra time was played and Kilruane got the early initiative and surged away to an eight point win.
