Lorrha GAA News for 1 November

All Stars: There was great pride in the club last Friday night as Patrick Maher became the second ever Lorrha man to be named on a Hurling All Star team. 'Bonner' was named at centre half forward on the All Star team, one of seven Tipperary man to be chosen on the team, and joins Ken Hogan as only players from the club to have won All Stars, with Ken winning his goalkeeping award in 1987.

Lotto: The numbers drawn last week were: 8 – 15 – 20 – 22. No Winner.

Lucky Dips: Helen Kennedy, Chloe Kennedy, Breda Deane, Kathleen McCormack, Noreen Lewis. Promoters: Betty Houlihan, James Dunne and the Friars Tavern.

Our jackpot now stands at €15,000. If our jackpot is not won, it will be capped at €15,000 with the roll over going onto the new jackpot which will start at €7,350. Junior Hurling: The Junior 'B' Hurling League Final against Kildangan could be played this weekend. Check North Bord fixtures for details.

Under 21 Hurling: Lorrha could be in action in the first round of the North U21 'B' Hurling Championship this weekend. Check North Bord fixtures for details.

Junior Football: Lorrha are out of the race for the county championship but will take part in the North Championship later in the autumn.

Shinty: Congratulations to Patrick Maher who was on the Ireland team which defeated Scotland in the second test of the Shinty International in Newry last Saturday and won the series on aggregate.

Tipperary GAA Clubs Draw: Congratulations to Fr Michael Reddan, Birr, who won €200 in last Friday's weekly Tipperary GAA Club's Lotto Draw. With the draw now half way through, we ask all promoters to bring their accounts up to date, prior to the AGM

Poker Classic: Thank you to everyone who took part in and supported the Poker Classic in aid of Special Olympics Ireland in the GAA Centre last Saturday night.

Social Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of Sam O'Doherty. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am. Social Dancing on Monday nights at 8pm.

Sympathy: Lorrha GAA Club would like to sympathise with the Duffy family on the death of Jimmy Duffy, Clonmona who passed away last week. May he rest in peace.
