Lorrha GAA News for 10 October

November 8, 2018

Senior: The Seamus O’Riain Cup Final against Kilruane MacDonaghs will take place this Sunday in Borrisokane @ 3.30pm. Best of luck to the players and mentors as we aim to finish the year on a high. A big support would be appreciated.

U21: The Under 21’s fell at the penultimate stage last Sunday when Burgess were juts too good on the day. It was a disappointing performance from the lads in a game where we struggled to get going. Thanks to Noel, Willie and Ken for their work throughout the year and also to the players for their commitment.

U16: Hard Luck to the U16’s who lost out in cruel fashion in the county semi-final on Saturday afternoon. With just a minute to go, Lorrha were ahead by a point but Moyle Rovers struck for a late goal and added a point to record a three point win, 3-8 to 1-11. The club would like to thank Hubert Hogan, Declan O’Meara and Aidan McIntyre for their work throughout the year while the panel can reflect on a successful year in which the North Final was won.

Camogie: Best of Luck to the Lorrha junior camogie team when they take on Clonoulty in the Junior ‘A’ final on this Saturday, 10 October in The Ragg @ 4.30pm. Just three years after their last title, the girls deserve our support as they aim to get to the Intermediate ranks.

College Bursaries: Application forms are now available for third level students for the GAA’s National Bursaries scheme. If granted, bursaries are worth €1000 per year. There is also an additional scheme for those that attend college in Munster. Closing date is 1 November.
