Lorrha GAA News for 11 April

Senior: Well done to the senior hurlers who got their county championship campaign off to the best possible start with a 1-13 to 0-13 win over Loughmore-Castleiney in Nenagh on Saturday. This was an excellent display of guts a determination and hopefully is a win we can build from.

Our next championship game will be against Killenaule on weekend 26 April.

Junior Hurling: The junior hurlers face Ballina in the third round of the league, likely to be on weekend 18-19 April.

Minor Football: Lorrha begin their North 'B' Football campaign against Burgess in Moatfield this Friday evening at 6.30pm.

Under 16: The Lorrha/Shannon Rovers amalgamation enjoyed their first win last Monday week when they defeated Silvermines 4-8 to 2-6 in Dolla. Last Monday evening they played Newport Gaels in Ballinderry, news next week.

Next Monday, they play Burgess in Kilcolman at 6.30pm

Under 14: Lorrha/Shannon Rovers begin their North 'A' football championship campaign against Nenagh Eire Og in Nenagh on Wednesday, 15th April at 6.30pm.

Under 12: The U12's began their football championship campaign with a good 3-7 to 0-1 win away to Ballina last Thursday evening. On Easter Monday they took on Shannon Rovers Gaels, news next week. Next Thursday evening, 9th April, Lorrha host Ballinahinch in Moatfield at 6.30pm.

5-Year Plan: On Wednesday, 30th April, the club will be holding an open meeting in Moatfield, starting at 8.30pm, to begin the development of a 5-Year Plan. Anyone from the parish, be it a player, coach, parent, supporter, members and non-members are invited to attend and give their views on what should be in the plan, which will deal with both on and off the field matters. Tipperary County Board will be sending a facilitator to run the meeting so everyones views can be heard and noted and then developed into a plan which will help us set a path for the future. This is an important meeting and we ask you to make a special effort to attend.

Lotto: There numbers drawn last week were: 3 – 12 – 15 – 28. No Winner.

Social Dancing: resumes on Friday night to the music of Walk the Line. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am. Social Dancing classes in the clubhouse every Monday night at 8pm.

Sympathy: Lorrha GAA Club would like to sympathise with the Coughlan family on the death of Jimmy Coughlan who passed away recently. May he rest in peace.
