Lorrha GAA News for 12 December

AGM: The AGM of Lorrha GAA Club took place in front of a small attendance in the Clubhouse on Sunday afternoon.
Treasurer William Harding gave a marvellous financial presentation which indicated that the club is now back on an even keel and that cost savings which were undertaken last year would continue in 2010. He said the Lotto and Tipperary Draw which are our two key sources if income needs to be supported much better. Shane Brophy gave a detailed secretary’s report while Chairman Seamus Deely thanked all those who had worked hard for the club during the past year while also congratulating the players from the club that wore the blue and gold during the year.
Shane Brophy stepped down as Secretary after four years while Margaret Gleeson and Jack Maher did not seek re-election as Assistant Treasurer and Registrar respectively. Tadhg Nevin was elected as new Assistant Treasurer.

Vincent McKenna and Hubert Hogan were ratified as Senior and Minor hurling managers respectively.
The Under 21 and Junior hurling managers posts as well as the vacant positions on the committee will be filled at the Adjourned AGM which will take place in the Clubhouse on Monday, 21 December @ 8.30pm.

Juvenile AGM: The AGM of the Juvenile Club will take place in the Clubhouse on Thursday, 17 December @ 8pm. All parents and those who would like to get involved at underage level are asked to attend.

Camogie AGM: The AGM of the Camogie club will take place in The Friars Tavern on this Sunday, 13 December @ 2.30pm.

1984 Reunion: The club will host a 25-year reunion for the 1984 senior team which won the North Tipp title and reached the county final. It will take place on Monday, 28 December in the GAA Clubhouse. Presentations will be made to each of the panel and management. Ray Kennedy will provide music while there will also be finger food. There is no charge so it is the place to head to on Monday, 28 December.

Race-Night: A race-night fundraiser will be held in the Friars Tavern on Sunday, 27 December. The players are currently selling horses and advertising for the event. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Dinner Dance: Lorrha GAA and Camogie club will host a joint-dinner dance in the Co. Arms Hotel, Birr on Saturday, 30 January 2010. Medals will be presented on the night to the Junior Camogie team, the senior men on their league victory and the U16’s for their North Final success.

Coaching: A coaching course will take place in the New Year in the club. Dates to be confirmed in the coming weeks.

Lotto: All lotto draws take place in the GAA Clubhouse on Monday night. The draw takes place at 10pm and all are welcome to attend. Thank you for your continued support.

Old Time Dancing: Old Time Dancing resumes on Friday night to the music of Midnight Melodies. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
