Lorrha GAA News for 12 February

Membership: Membership for 2011 is now due. €40 – AdultPlayers; €20 – Non Playing Adults; €15 – Minor/College Students and Juveniles(with match ticket entry); €10 – Juveniles (without match ticket entry).Closing date for membership is 31 March and people are urged to do so by thenas figures collected on this date will count towards our allocation ofTipperary tickets later in the year.

Lotto: The numbers drawn this weekwere: 1 – 8 – 22 - 27. No Winner.

The Lucky Dips were: Anne Healy-Smith, P&P Donoghue,Maureen Hayes, Charles Fallon and Martin Hough (England). The Promoters prizeswent to Kelly’s, Tony Coen and Billy Dagg. Our jackpot now stands at €7,150. Thank you for your continued support.

The lotto is a vitalpart of our fundraising activity. You can also play our lotto online at www.myclubfinances.com where it is easy toplay every week. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5.

 

Lotto meeting: An informative meeting among lotto workerstook place last week. At which, it was decided to increase the promoters prizeto €20 for all promoters who sell five or more tickets in a week. It remains at€10 for five tickets or under.

All lotto ticketsposted at collection points throughout the parish are to be done so by 5.30pmon Monday evenings to guarantee entry into the draw. Tickets will be acceptedat the Clubhouse until draw time at 9pm.

Three extra teamshave been formed to work the lotto on Monday nights. Team 1 -  Michelle Moran, Willie Maher, Trevor Hogan; Team2 – Pauline Hoctor, Martina Houlihan, Brendan Fogarty ; Team 3 – Shane Brophy,James Dunne, Tommy Cahalan; Team 4 – Michael Hoctor, Margaret Gleeson, DerekMannion; Team 5 – Sean Mannion, Donal Brady, Conor O’Sullivan; Team 6 – PJNevin, Louis McCormack, Martin Hough (Whitehall).

Thanks to Billy& Rachel Dagg who stepped down from their lotto group after many years ofgreat service.

 

Indoor Hurling: for Under 8’s continues in Lorrha Hall onFriday evening from 7 to 8pm.


Juvenile Training: U10 & 12 training in Lorrha Hall on Tuesday, 15 February from 7.30pm to 8.30pm. U14 training on Friday, 18 February from 6pm to 7pm.  

 

Gaeltacht Scholarships: Application forms are available for a limited number of GaeltachtScholarships to 2nd level students in the county from the TipperaryCounty Board. Closing date forapplications is this Friday, February 11th and forms areavailable from club secretary Kevin Hough.

 

Coaching Courses: An Award 1 Coaching course for February 10th, 12th, 16thand 19th at a North Tipp venue has also been confirmed. Anyone interested in taking part shouldcontact coaching officer, Ken Hogan.

 

Old Time Dancing: Old Time Dancing continues on Friday nightin our newly extended function room to the music of Denis Doyle. Dancing 9.30pmto 12.30am.
