Lorrha GAA News for 12 July

Senior Hurling: Our outstanding North Senior Championship game with Nenagh Eire Og has been fixed for Cloughjordan on Saturday week, 19 July at 7pm.

Junior Hurling: Our championship match with Kildangan, due to take place this weekend has been deferred by one week.

Minor Hurling: Lorrha 2-9 Toomevara 0-13
Lorrha earned two crucial points in the Minor ‘A’ Championship with a hard-fought win over Toomevara last Thursday. An early Sean Cleary goal gave Lorrha the initiative to take a slender three point lead to half. Toomevara dominated much of the second half with an Eoin O’Meara goal proving to be the key score as we held on for a narrow win after excellent game
Lorrha’s next game is away to Kildangan on Wednesday next, 16 July at 7.30pm.

Under 16: Lorrha got their Under 16 Championship underway with an excellent 5-7 to 1-12 win over Borris-Ileigh in Borrisoleigh on Saturday evening.

Under 14: The Under 14’s continued their winning ways with a comfortable win over Silvermines in Lorrha last week. Their next game is this evening (Wednesday) away to Borris-Ileigh at 7.30pm.

Under 12: The Under 12’s had a busy weekend. Firstly on Friday in Moatfield, they played out a hard fought draw with Portroe with the final score being 2-5 apiece. On Sunday evening, we then played hosts to Toomevara ‘B’ with Lorrha winning through by 3-5 to 0-1, a result that sees Lorrha into the semi-finals.

Under 8’s & 10’s: Training for both age groups continues on Saturday mornings at 11am.

Jerseys: The new Lorrha jerseys have arrived and are available for collection. All those who ordered jerseys are asked to collect them over the next two week. All jerseys must be paid for when collected. There are also a number of jerseys in limited sizes available to buy. €35 for sizes 5-6 to 10-11 and €45 for sizes 13-14 to XXL.

Cul Camp: The Lorrha GAA Cul Camp is fast approaching and will take place between 21 and 25 July. At a meeting last weekend, all five and six year olds are welcome to take part.

Tipperary: Best of Luck to Ciaran Haugh and both the Tipperary Minor and Senior Hurling teams in Sundays Munster Finals in Limerick. Both Kevin Maher and Patrick Maher are on the Tipperary Under 21 panel that will face Limerick in the Munster semi-final on Thursday, 17 July in Semple Stadium.

Old Time Dancing: Our Old Time Dancing continues on Friday night to the music of Kieran Fogarty. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
