Lorrha GAA News for 13 August

Senior: The seniors take on Ballingarry in the semi-final of the County League on this Saturday, 13 August in Templemore at 5.30pm. Best of luck to the team and mentors

Junior: The Juniors received a walkover from Roscrea but with Toomevara baeting Kilruane, Lorrha have missed out on a playoff for the quarter finals.

Under 21: The 21’s took on Coolderry in a challenge game last Friday ahead of the resumption of the championship in the near future.

Minor Hurling: The minors suffered a heavy 3-21 to 1-12 defeat to Toomevara in Borrisokane last Thursday. This Thursday, Lorrha take on Kilruane in our final group game in Borrisokane @ 7.00pm with the winners progressing to the semi-finals. Best of luck to the players and mentors.

U16: The U16’s suffered a heavy defeat to Templederry last week. Lorrha hosted Portroe on Monday last, news next week. Next Monday, Lorrha take on Borrisokane in their final group game. Check Bord na nÓg fixtures.

U14: Training continues every Thursday evening from 7.00 to 8.00pm.

Tipperary V Dublin: Best of Luck to Patrick Maher and the Tipperary senior hurlers against Dublin in the All Ireland semi-final in Croke Park on Sunday.

Tipperary Training Fund Draw: Tickets are available for the Tipperary hurlers and footballers Training Fund Draw. Tickets are €10 and top prize is a Trip for 2 to the International Rules Series in Australia this October; 2nd Prize is a Trip for 2 on the Hurling All Stars Trip to San Francisco in November while there are other prizes of tickets to both the Hurling and Football All Ireland Finals. Contact any committee member for details.

Super Camp: The GAA Super Camp scheduled for Dolla has been rescheduled for Thurles from August 16th to 18th. This camp will should be very useful to any players or clubs wishing to give their players three days of development and blitzes under quality coaches.

Parish Golf Outing: The Lorrha Parish Golf Outing takes place in Birr Golf Club on Saturday, 27 August. Tee Times available from 9.00am. Timesheet with Tony Coen on 087-6219639.

Sports Hall or Function Room booking: Anyone interested in using the Function Room, Sports Hall, Gym or the Clubhouse for any event can contact Sean Mannion on 087-3643031.

Tipperary Draw: We are now three months into the 2011/2012 Draw and all promoters are asked to gather all outstanding monies as soon as possible.

Old Time Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of J&S Sound. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
