Lorrha GAA News for 13 December

Lotto: Our jackpot of €15,000 was won last week by Bridie McInerney, Portroe who had the winning combination 8 – 10 – 22 – 23. The promoter of the winning ticket was Tommy Cahalan.

Our new jackpot now starts at €8,250 which has been building in recent months. Thank you for your continued support. You can also play our lotto online at www.locallotto.ie where it is easy to play every week. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5.

Junior Hurling: The Junior 'B' Hurling League Final against Kildangan which was due to have been played last Sunday was postponed and will be refixed for a later date.

Junior Football: Lorrha have been drawn away to Borris-Ileigh in the Junior ‘A’ Football Championship and this game could take place next weekend, check North Bord fixtures.  

Auction: The annual Sale of Work, Timber Auction and Indoor Market will take place at the GAA Centre on this Sunday, 14th December at 2pm. Any help this week to get the last of the timber together would be appreciated. Looking forward to seeing you on the day for what is always a popular event.

Senior AGM: The Annual General Meeting of Lorrha GAA Club will take place next Tuesday, 16th December at 8.00pm. All members, players and supporters are invited to attend as this is an important meeting to air your views at to the running of the club.

Juvenile AGM: The Juvenile AGM took place last Wednesday night in the Clubhouse in front of a good attendance. Dessie Clancy was re-elected as Chairman while John Paul Houlihan elected Secretary with outgoing secretary Louise Mannion to be his assistant. Managers for all teams were confirmed: U6 & 8: Mark Houlihan & Tommy Kennedy; U10: Denis Duffy; U12: John Paul Houlihan; U14: Dessie Clancy; U16: Pat Kennedy. Selectors to be added to all teams.

Juvenile Presentation: The Under 12’s received their North and County ‘C’ Football Championship medals at a presentation night and disco held in the Clubhouse last Friday night. Thanks to our own Patrick ‘Bonner’ Maher and Tipperary senior footballer George Hannigan for making the presentations.

Social Night: The Club will hold a Social Night in the Clubhouse on Saturday, 27th December at 9.30pm where everyone involved with the club in any way over the past year are invited to attend what should be a festive occasion.

Social Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of Walk the Line. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am. Social Dancing classes on Monday nights at 8pm.
