Lorrha GAA News for 13 July

Senior: Lorrha have been drawn against Carrick Davins in the semi-final of the Seamus O’Riain Cup, on a date yet to be confirmed. We are also awaiting a date for our Challenge Cup final v Roscrea.
Junior Hurling: The Junior hurlers lost to Knockshegowna on a scoreline of 2-19 to 0-11 in the second round of the championship in Borrisokane on Sunday evening. Lorrha have a bye in round 3 and will play Kildangan in round 4.
Minor: Lorrha’s next game is away to Shannon Rovers, likely on Thursday, 18th July.
Under 16: The U16 ‘B’ Hurling Championship got underway on Monday last with Lorrha taking on Portroe. News next week. Next Monday, Lorrha host Moneygall in Moatfield at 7pm.
Under 12: The Under 12’s produced a battling display but lost out 2-8 to 1-3 to Roscrea in Moatfield last Friday evening. Lorrha’s final group game is at home to Kildangan, this Friday at 6.45pm.
Tipperary: Hard luck to Patrick Maher and the Tipperary senior hurlers in their All Ireland Qualifier against Kilkenny at Nowlan Park last Saturday. Also commiserations to the minor footballers in their Munster final v Kerry on Sunday.
Cúl Camp: This years Kellogg’s Cúl Camp for 6-13 year olds takes place in Moatfield from next Monday, 15th July and continues until Friday, 19th July. The cost remains the same as last year: first child – €55, second child – €45 and third child – €40. Places in the camp can be booked on line at www.gaa.ie/culcamps. Promotional packs of Kellogg’s Cornflakes and Rice Crispies feature a unique code, which can be used by parents online to receive a €5 discount. This should be a great week for our young stars where they will get expert coaching and will also be visited by a number of Tipp stars.
Tipperary Clubs Draws: Congratulations to Shane Brophy who won €200 in the Tipperary Weekly Draw last Friday. The third monthly draw takes place this Friday and hopefully the club will enjoy more success.
Gym Membership: (All rates are inclusive of club membership rates above) Adult Players – €150 (€50+€100); Non-Playing member – €150 (€30+€120); Student – €100 (€20+€80); Family (2+2) – €200 (€80+€120); Non club member – €150. Individual rates are €3 per session for club members and €5 per session for non members. All 2012 members who have not renewed their membership have now had their phobs turned off.
