Lorrha GAA News for 13 June

Golf Classic: The date of our Golf Classic in Birr Golf Club has been deferred by two weeks to Friday, 10 July. What better way to start Munster Final weekend than with a round of golf. Teams of 4 are €220 while hole sponsorships are €100 each. Timesheets are with Michael Liffey 087-2578370 or Tony Coen 087-6219639.

Senior: Lorrha lost out by three points to Portroe in a high-scoring game in Cloughjordan on Sunday afternoon. See Match Report. We now cannot qualify for the knockout stages but still have one game to play against Roscrea on 28 June before the start of the Seamus O’Riain Cup.
The seniors play Kilruane in the division two league semi-final this Sunday in Nenagh or Borrisokane @ 1.30pm.

Junior: play Borris-Ileigh in Toomevara this Friday @ 8pm.

VHI Cul Camps: The Lorrha GAA VHI Cul Camp takes place this year between 20-24 July.

Feile: Lorrha are hosting the Mount Leinster Rangers club from Carlow as part of the All Ireland Feile hurling competition. Lorrha will be taking part and Moatfield will be hosting game on Friday, 19 June before travelling to Rathdowney on the Saturday to take on the home side plus Ardfert from Kerry.

U14: Lorrha v Silvermines in Moatfield on Wednesday (this evening) @ 7pm.

U12: Lorrha lost to Silvermines in the opening round of the championship last Friday. They have another game this Friday. Check fixtures.

Tipp v Clare: Ticket orders for this game are now being taken. Orders including family tickets must be with Shane Brophy (086-0515324) by this Sunday night.

Tipp v Cork: Well done to Patrick & Kevin Maher plus selector Ken Hogan and the on their success with the Tipp Under 21’s against Cork last week.
Well done also to Jamie Lewis who was on the North Tipp U14 team which won the Peadar Cummins tournament recently.

Tipp Draw: The first Draw has been deferred to this Friday, June 12th with an Audi A6 or €50,000 as first prize. Tickets are €100 for the year with multiple payment options.

Courses: Last year, the club purchased a defibrillator for use in emergency situations and anyone interested in taking part in a course on how to use it can contact William Harding on 086-8062341. Anyone interested in taking a physio/masseurs course can also call William Harding for further details.

Lotto: The numbers drawn on 1 June were: 6 – 11 – 18 – 25. No Winner.
The Lucky Dips were: Pat Carroll (Ballyea), Phyllis Kennedy (The Lake), Martina Houlihan, Tommy Needham and John Maher. The Winning Promoters were: Tony Coen, Kellys and Louis McCormack.
