Lorrha GAA News for 14 March

Adjourned AGM: The Adjourned AGM of Lorrha GAA club will take place on Monday, 30 March at 8.30pm sharp. A number of issues from the AGM have been carried over plus we will have full information on the proposed development works.

Senior: Lorrha will travel to Moneygall in the first round of the County Senior Hurling League on this Saturday, 14 March at 5pm.

Schools: Hard Luck to Cian Hogan who scored four points from play from centre forward for Birr CS in their Leinster Colleges semi-final against Good Counsel. Hard luck also to Ronan Harding, Muire Kennedy and Rebekah Lambe and the Birr CS U16 camogie team that lost their All Ireland semi-final at the weekend.

La na gClub: As part of the GAA’s 125 Celebrations, Sunday, 10 May has been designated as La na gClub. This day will be free of club and inter-county games with each club encouraged to host events to mark the influence of the GAA in the local community. A sub-committee will be set up at the Adjourned AGM club to organise events and all ideas are welcome.

Indoor Hurling: Indoor hurling continues in Lorrha Hall on Friday night at 7pm with Team 6 in charge.

SuperValu Promotion: The club has signed up for the SuperValu ‘Kids in Action’ promotion. A range of sports equipment can be obtained for the club through a collection of tokens earns when shopping in any SuperValu store. We would appreciate that those who collect the tokens would pass them onto Juvenile Secretary Niall Brophy by early March.

Membership: Membership for 2009 is now available. €40 – Adult Players; €20 – Non Playing Adults; €15 – Minor/College Students and Juveniles (with match ticket entry); €10 – Juveniles (without match ticket entry). All players must have their membership paid before the start of the league and all membership is payable to club registrar Jack Maher or any committee member.

Tipp Draw: With just two draws left on the 08/09 draw, all those will outstanding payments should contact their ticket seller asap.

Merchandise: Jerseys: 2 x size 5-6 – €35; 5 x size 9-10 – €35; 1 x medium; 2 x XL – €45; 2 x XXL – €45. Polo-shirts: 1 x XL – €15. Juvenile jacket size 10-11 is €30. Club crested shorts, 2 x 36 inch are €15 and socks are also available while stocks last. All can be purchased from Shane Brophy on 086-0515324.

Lotto: The numbers drawn this week were: 1 – 14 – 20 – 30. No Winner.

Old Time Dancing: Old Time Dancing continues on Friday night to the music of Denis Doyle. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
