Lorrha GAA News for 15 April

Senior: In round 3 of the County League, Lorrha drew 0-19 to 1-16 against Roscrea in Roscrea last Sunday. Brian Hogan and Bonner Maher made their return to the side in what was an encouraging performance.

Their next game will be in the first round of the County Championship against Holycross/Ballycahill will be played on weekend 23 or 30 April, depending on whether Tipperary get to the National Hurling League final.

Junior: The Junior hurlers recorded an impressive 4-10 to 0-15 win over Moneygall in their second round game of the Junior 'B' League in Moatfield on Saturday evening. This Saturday, 15th April, we host Ballinahinch in Moatfield at 6.30pm

Minor: Lorrha Rovers Gaels footballers played their rearranged game against Kiladangan last Thursday in Puckane and drew 3-7 to 2-10. They now face Silvermines on Tuesday 25th April with the winner progressing to the semi-final.

The Minor 'A' Hurling Championship will begin on Good Friday with Lorrha Rovers hosting Roscrea in Ballinderry at 6.30pm. Best of luck to the players and mentors

Under 16: Lorrha Rovers Gaels footballers drew with Kilruane MacDonaghs in Cloughjordan last Monday week, 5-4 to 4-7. Last Monday, 10th April, they hosted Kiladangan and won 1-10 to 1-7 which sees them into the semi-finals.

Under 14: Lorrha Rovers Gaels football game against Borrisokane was called off last Wednesday and has been rearranged for Saturday 22nd April. This evening (12th April) they face Kiladangan in Puckane at 6.30pm.

In Feile na nGael Hurling, Lorrha Rovers lost 4-7 to 2-2 away to Ballina last Sunday.

Under 12: Lorrha footballers played Moneygall in Moneygall last Friday and were beaten 7-6 to 1-2. Next Friday they are away to Borrisokane at 6.30pm

Tipp Draw: The club had no winners in the April Draw held last Friday. This brings the 2016/2017 draw to an end. We thank all those who joined the draw and the promoters who do such a great job with the draw. We will be promoting the 2017/2018 draw in the coming weeks.

Social Dancing: There is no Social Dance on Good Friday night. Dancing resumes on Friday 21st April with TR Dallas.

Sympathy: Lorrha GAA Club would like to sympathise with the Young family, on the passing of Kieran Horan, Birr, who passed away last week. May he rest in peace.
