Lorrha GAA News for 15 August

November 8, 2018

Lotto: Our jackpot is now €5,500. Thank you for your continued support. You can play our lotto online at www.locallotto.ie where it is easy to play every week. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5.

Senior: Our championship campaign is in limbo as we await the progress of Killenaule and Eire Og Annacarty in their divisional championships. Killenaule will play Mullinahone in the South final while Eire Og Annacarty will play Knockavilla Kickhams in the West final. If one or both is successful, we will progress to the last 16, which won't be played until late August at the earliest.

Junior Hurling: Lorrha defeated Shannon Rovers 1-21 to 1-4 in the third round of the championship in Ballinderry on Sunday afternoon with the goal coming from Ross O'Meara. It sets up a crucial game away to Ballina this Friday, 14th August at 7.15pm, where a win or a draw will see us through to the semi-finals. Regardless we are already through to the quarter finals.

Minor: The minor hurlers face Silvermines in Dolla this evening (Wednesday, 12th August) at 7.15pm in a crucial game where a win or draw would see us into the semi-finals. A defeat might still be enough if other results go our way.

Under 16: Lorrha/Shannon Rovers returned to action against Portroe on Monday evening in Moatfield on Monday; news next week. Next Monday, they are away to Ballina at 7pm as they remain on course to reach the semi-finals on Monday, 22nd August.

Under 14: Lorrha/Shannon Rovers will play Newport Gaels in the North 'B' semi-final in Moatfield on Thursday, 13th August at 7.30pm.

All Ireland Semi-Final Tickets: Orders for All Ireland semi-final tickets on 16th August through the club have closed. Tickets can still be purchased through www.tickets.ie, Centra or SuperValu.

Tipperary GAA Clubs Draw: The club didn't have any winners in the August draw which took place last Saturday night. We ask all promoters to bring their accounts up to date.

Tipperary: Best of luck to Patrick Maher and the Tipperary senior and minor hurling teams in their All Ireland semi-finals at Croke Park this Sunday.

Lorrha Parish Golf Outing: takes place this year in Birr Golf Club on Saturday, 22nd August. Tee-times from 9am to 1pm with timesheet available by contacting this years Captain Denis Duffy 0877784666 or Tony Coen 0876219639. This years President is Pauline Needham.
