Lorrha GAA News for 16 April

Tipperary Clubs Draw: The 2010-2011 Draw has now been completed. All coordinators are asked to collect all outstanding money for the draw before registering members for the 2011-2012 draw which will begin in May. The Draw costs €100 for the year or €10 per month with monthly prizes ranging from €200 up to €15,000 and a car. €50 from each ticket stays with the club while the number of players counts towards our Tipperary ticket allocation later in the year. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Lotto: Our jackpot now stands at €8,500. Thank you for your continued support.
Next Monday’s draw (18 April) will see the work group being Team 4.

Senior: The seniors began the North Championship with a 3-16 to 3-11 defeat to Kildangan in Nenagh on Sunday. After last year, the performance was very encouraging with the result in doubt right until the final ten minutes. See Match Report.
There is no league or championship game this weekend with Lorrha’s next game coming up on Easter weekend against Burgess in the North Championship.

Junior: The junior’s have a bye in the third round of the junior ‘A’ league.

Minor Football: Lorrha are in action this Friday, 15 April away to Ballina @ 6.30pm.

U16: The U16’s beaten by Silvermines (2-8 to 1-8) in their final group game on Monday last in Moatfield. Lorrha have failed to make the knockout stages but improved with every game which is positive in advance of the start of the hurling. Training continues on Wednesday evening in Moatfield from 7-8pm.

U14: The U14’s were narrowly beaten 2-10 to 3-3 by Silvermines in Dolla last Wednesday. Next up is a trip to Toomevara to play the home side on Wednesday (tonight) @ 6.30pm. Training continues on Friday evenings from 6-7pm.

Premier 12’s: The U12’s footballers defeated Ballinahinch 6-1 to 5-2 in Moatfield on Friday last. Next up is a game against Shannon Rovers in Moatfield on Thursday evening @ 7pm. Check Bord na nOg fixtures.
Training for U10 & 12’s now in Moatfield on Tuesday evenings from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.

Photo Gallery: Further to the ongoing development of the new clubhouse facilities, the committee are looking at setting up of photo gallery of current and past Lorrha teams and Lorrha players who played with Tipperary over the years.
We ask that anyone who would have photos in their family photo albums relating to above would wish to share with the club. The club will make a copy of your submitted photo and return original to you. If you have any interesting photos no matter how old or new that you think may be of interest to the club please contact Rose Mannion or William Harding.

Old Time Dancing: Old Time Dancing continues on Friday night in our newly extended function room to the music of Sam Doherty. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
