Lorrha GAA News for 16 October

Minor: Hardluck to our minor team who lost the County Minor ‘B’ Hurling final to Holycrossin Nenagh on Sunday afternoon. In what was a superb game, the players performedbrilliantly right to the very end but came up two-points short on a 2-17 to3-12 scoreline. The club would like to thank the players and mentors for theirefforts throughout the year which helped restore much needed pride in the cluband such was the skill and character shown on Sunday, there are great things tocome in the future.

The club would like to thank Paraic Dermodyand his company for sponsoring Polo-shirts for the panel and also to Denis& Lil Maher for providing a lovely meal for the players on Sunday eveningin The Shed.

 

U21: Withthe minor campaign at and end, the Under 21s will aim to reach a North ‘A’final when they take on Kilruane MacDonaghs in the semi-final on this Saturdayin Borrisokane @ 4pm. Best of luck to the players and mentors.

 

Tipperary: LorrhaGAA club would like to wish the best of luck and thanks to Liam Sheedy, EamonnO’Shea and Michael Ryan following their decision to step down as Tipperarysenior management last week.

 

Date for your Diary: This years AGM has been fixed for Saturday, 11 December. Finalaccounts will be put together in the coming weeks so all those with outstandingfinancial issues should contact treasurer Willie Harding as soon as possible.

 

Lotto: Our jackpot has reached a record high of €20,000. The jackpot cannotgo any higher so it will remain at €20,000 but the following jackpot has nowrisen to €4,500.

Thanks to everyone whois supporting our lotto, which is the clubs main source of fundraising. Withthe jackpot currently high, the number of players is growing by the week,particularly online on www.locallotto.iewhere it is easy to play every week. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5.  

 

Old Time Dancing: Old Time Dancing continues on Friday night to the music of DenisDoyle. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.

 

Sympathy: LorrhaGAA Club would like to sympathise with the Hogan family, Roden following thedeath of Nuala Hogan who was laid to rest on Saturday. May she rest in peace.
