Lorrha GAA News for 17 July

Lotto:Our jackpot reached a recordhigh of €19,700 this week. Thanksto everyone who is supporting our lotto, which is the clubs main source offundraising. With the jackpot currently high, the number of players is growingby the week, particularly online on www.locallotto.iewhere it is easy to play every week. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5.  

 

Senior: Theseniors have been drawn against South Tipp opposition in Ballybacon/Grange inthe first round of the O’Riain Cup. The date for the game is dependant onTipperary’s progress in the senior and under 21 championships. 

 

Junior: Thejuniors suffered a last gasp defeat to Kildangan in their third game of thechampionship on Saturday, losing out 2-9 to 1-10 in Cloughjordan. We now faceToomevara in a crucial game which will take place the weekend after next.

 

U21: TheUnder 21’s qualified for a North semi-final against Kilruane MacDonaghs with anexcellent 3-17 to 2-14 win over Templederry in the quarter final in Nenagh lastweek. See Match Report.

 

Minor hurling: The minors continued their winning start with a 4-13 to 0-8 win overMoneygall in Moatfield on Thursday evening last. Our third game comes thisThursday, 15 July in Puckane v Kildangan. Throw-in is at 7.30pm.

 

U16: TheUnder 16’s will begin their ‘A’ championship campaign against KilruaneMacDonaghs in Cloughjordan next week. Check Bord na nÓg fixtures for date andtime.

 

U14: Lorrhadrew 1-10 apiece with Portroe in their latest group game. The result meansLorrha will have to play a semi-final against Portroe or Shannon Rovers,depending on the result of their game this week. This semi-final should takeplace next week.

 

Inter-county: Best of Luck to Ken Hogan (manager) and Patrick Maher & CiaranHaugh as well as the rest of the Tipperary Under 21 hurling team in the Munstersemi-final against Cork in Pairc Ui Chaoimh this evening.

Best of luck to Patrick and the rest of theTipperary team in their All Ireland Qualifier this Sunday against Offaly in Portlaoise.

 

Cúl Camp: This years Lorrha GAA Cúl Camp will take place next week, 19-23July. The camp begins each morning at 10am and concludes at 2.30pm. All thoseattending are wished a fun week.

 

Old Time Dancing: Old Time Dancing continues on Friday night to the music of DenisDoyle. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
