Lorrha GAA News for 18 January

Recognition Night: Lorrha GAA are hosting a night for all our lotto promoters, draw workers as well as social club members in the GAA Centre this Saturday night at 8.30pm. Refreshments will be served. All are welcome.

Membership: for 2014 is now due. Rates were also confirmed with all inclusive of Gym membership: €90 – Adult player; €50 – Minor/College student; €30 – Non-playing Adult (+€70 extra for gym membership for 12 months); €20 – Juvenile (16 and under); €90 – Family (2 adults and 2 children, capped at €100 for three or more children) Closing date for membership for all adult and juvenile players is the last day of February to be insured in games while the closing date for non-playing membership is 31st March. Membership can be paid to club registrar Louise Mannion or can also be done online at www.locallotto.ie

National Draw: Lorrha GAA Club will be promoting the GAA's National Draw which will be held on St Patrick's Day. Tickets are €10 each with prizes ranging from a trip to Australia for the International Rules series next October to trips to New York, All Ireland final tickets etc. Funds raised from the draw will go towards repairing the damage to the goalposts and nets damaged by the storm before Christmas. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Tipperary GAA Clubs Draw: We would ask all the draw promoters and subscribers to bring their accounts up to date ahead. We had no winners in the January draw which took place last Friday night.

Drug & Alcohol Policy: At the recent AGM, the club adopted a Drug & Alcohol policy which is on the main noticeboard while copies can also be gotten from the club secretary.

Coaching Courses: Anyone interested in undertaking a Foundation level or Level 1 coaching course over the winter months are to contact David Needham as soon as possible.

Sports Hall or Function Room booking: If anyone or any sports team would like to use of our facilities, which include a sports hall, gym or training field with floodlights or function room, contact Sean Mannion 087-3643031, Declan O'Meara (0872609314) or William Harding (083-3158170)

Social Dancing: continues in the GAA Clubhouse on Friday, 17th January to the music of Brian McDermott. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.

Sympathy: Lorrha GAA Club would like to sympathise with the Ryan and Lewis families on the death of Tina Ryan, Lorrha, who died over the weekend. The club also sympathise with former parish priest Father Joe Kennedy on the death of his sister Mary and brother John recently. May they rest in peace.
